grumblings really matter

A lesson I really need to hear every hour!

Phil. 2:14 -15 basically tells us to not complain, grumble, or argue about anything and if we do then it will allow us to shine brightly in the midst of our world.

We need to speak statements of gratefulness to our souls, not grumbling because ultimately we are gripping at God! (numbers 20)

We need to speak You statements of Praise to God, instead of I statements about self to ourselves!

Me, Myself, & Lies: Combat Anger issues

What He revealed through Week 4 Day 4.

I have to be alert to my sins and the schemes of the enemy. Believing the enemy's lies (which in itself is sin) leads to anger...which doesn't achieve the righteousness of God (James 1:19-20), and anger lives in fools (Eccl. 7:9)... for me my anger leads to more sin because i act out on my anger.

So how do I combat those lies which so easily led to SO many of my sins... with the shield of faith and the Sword of the Spirit. The verses I posted below speak directly to several lies that the enemy likes to tell me.

This is huge for me. I really struggle with being angry and harboring ill feelings towards those who have offended me. However, I believe that many of the reasons I experience anger is not based on TRUTH but based on false assumptions that the enemy has whispered to me. I don't recognize the lie and therefore regard the lie as truth which lead to anger which, for me, usually leads to sin.

How I praise Him for showing me the root of many of my sins!

Mini example: a friend says a little comment that hurts my feelings. The enemy tells me that the friend doesn't like me. I believe it. So i get angry and say hurtful things back.

My sin was believing the enemy's lie, which lead to angry, which lead to sin.

Me, Myself, & Lies: Shield of Faith

So this is what I just studied today, and I had to make it for my bathroom mirror. : ) As many of you know that is the only way i get through my days. So thought i would share. When the lion roars is referring to I Peter 5:8...the enemy.

When the lion roars, “God doesn’t listen to you,” I say…

The LORD is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.

He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cry and saves them.

Psalm 145:18-19

When the lion roars, “You have no value or purpose,” I say…

But now, thus says the LORD, your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.

Isaiah 43:1-2

When the lion roars, “Your problem is unfixable,” I say…

17'Ah Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You,

Jeremiah 32:17

When the lion roars, “You are abandoned,” I say…

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

When the lion roars, “ You’re a loser,” I say…

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8: 37

When the lion roars, “You’ve blown it. God can’t accept you,” I say…

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8: 38-39

When the lion roars, “Nobody cares about you,” I say…

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

When the lion roars, “You have no willpower,” I say…

For God did not give us a spirit of fear and timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7

Reminder to self that He works in our lives!

So many miracles have happened in the last few weeks. I want my kids to know how powerfully God really does work in our lives.

Brooklynn fell onto concrete and had a 4 to 5 inch skull fracture. She stayed in the hospital a night to make sure their was no brain damage. She has had a hard but fast recovery as she is now here in Little Rock visiting family. Praise God for His angels watching over her!

Babies, Babies everywhere!! 3 couples at our church have been struggling with either adopting or getting pregnant for quite sometime. All 3 couples are either pregnant or have adopted a baby! God really does hear our prayers!

He is good, alive and working! i just needed a reminder and hope that it encourages others and my kiddos one day to always keep petitioning Him cause He wants to take care of us!

Also, my Dad preached Dado's best friend's funeral on July 1st. A year to the day that Dado went to be with Jesus. Daddy talked about heaven and how amazing and exciting it is to think about Dado, Brother Gibbons and Jesus sitting around sharing stories! He expressed how he wanted to be there! oh, I want to be there too!! thank you, Daddy for reminding me of the most important things in this life! Jesus!!
